![]() Step 4: Spiral Time! After the spin cycle your wrap should be damp. After the hour passes rinse the fabric out a bit so it’s not super soapy then throw the fabric in the wash and have it go through a spin cycle. I placed the fabric in the tub and submerge all the fabric.* add water if needed* I let the Fabric sit in the soda ash wash for an hour and half, stirring every 15 miss or so. I mixed 2 teaspoons Soda ash, 1 teaspoon Blue dawn dish soap and 5 gallons of Hot water. I did not have a large pot to scour my fabric in so instead I used my large black tub with the hottest water I could get in it. You may choose how thin or thick you would like your hem and cut accordingly. I cut at 32′ because I was going to use 2′ on each side to hem. Osnaburg will tear straight so don’t worry about ripping it that’s the easiest way to get a straight line. I measured my wrap to 32′ and make a small cut on the edge where I wanted to cut and Rip! Yep that’s right you will tear the fabric. The fabric I purchased came to me at 45′ wide so I knew I was going to have to cut it. ![]() After drying I re measured and lost about 1/2 yard in shrinkage I wanted to ensure all the shrinking was going to happen before I hemmed the wrap. ![]() Next I threw my wrap in the dryer and let it dry on the hottest setting for 1-2 hours. After the wash I put my fabric through one more Warm/Cold rinse cycle to get remaining soaps out. I only used a little but you do want to ensure to get all the oils and such out of the fabric that it comes with. I changed my setting to Hot/Cold Large load and put in laundry soap. I had the fabric go through a wash cycle without any laundry soap once the first wash finished. The instant I received my fabric I threw it directly in the wash on a warm/cold setting. I haven’t seen much spiral tutorials for wraps so I figured I would make one for more baby wearing mama’s out there to create some beautiful master pieces □ So here we are! I will go step by step on what I did to achieve this beautiful spiral osnaburg wrap! I have tie dyed for many years and my favorite style of shirt tie dye is spirals so that’s when I decided to make a spiral directly in the center of my wrap. So after getting all my supplies I started thinking about ideas. I paid a total of $40 for 7 yards of fabric and shipping. I could not find any fabric local to me so I went to the online world and found some 100% cotton osnaburg fabric on. So I have found the Woven Wrap love but my wallet just won’t allow me to #buyallthewraps so I started looking into making my own and the instant I found out you could tie dye osnaburg to make your own wrap I knew I was going to be doing a whole lot of dyeing! So I instantly started searching for fabric.
